http://www.indeed.com/salary
I love this website! You can basically find any job’s salary according to location. You can also search jobs themselves, by title (Ph.D, Masters, B.A., etc), or by trend.

Being a music-lover, this is by far one of the coolest websites I have found to date. Pandora.com is a website that allows you to pick a song or artist that you love, and then the website creates a “radio station” for you according to your pick. You can make several radio stations, and add it to the site. It’s pretty amazing. And FREE.
As an example, I put in “Love Song,” by Sara Bareilles, and the site generated a playlist of songs by Gavin Degraw, Missy Higgins, Jack Johnson, and so on. It really is such a great site to broaden your musical horizons.

Randy Pausch, a professor at Carnegie Mellon delivers a recap of his last speech he gave to his students on the Oprah show. He is given a short few months to live. He will leave behind a wife and three sons. His situation is so tragic, yet his words are so motivational and spirited.
I urge you to watch until the end. I was moved to tears.

They are so cool. I just loooove them. This may be old news to some of you. But I just had to share.
If you have an ipod, or even if you don’t, download iTunes onto your computer. Click the iTunes Store link on the left side of the iTunes music screen, and scroll around or search (CTRL + f ) until you find the link for “Podcast.” Click it, and lo and behold…..a world of FREE downloads at your fingertips! I was amazed when I first found this treasure. I am a long time listener to the Dr. Joy Brown show, a psychologist who gives advice to callers on public radio. Lately, I’ve had little free time to listen to her show, so now I can download all her podcasts (with NO commercials, which is great), and put them on my iPod. Then plug into my car and go!
Now if you don’t have an iPod to listen to your podcasts, don’t fret; you can also download it to your iTunes and just listen to the podcasts on your computer. The podcasts range from videos of comedians from Comedy Central to daily Italian phrases to Agatha Christie Mysteries (in full) to A Prairie Home Companion. Just type in something you normally love to listen to (radio or video), and you can probably find it in their database. It’s amazing, and I highly urge you to check it out.
Go to apple.com to download iTunes, or ask a friend or family member who has the iTunes CD and upload it to your computer.
