This is an article from cnn.com today that just confirms what I’ve been hearing for a while now! Apparently, because of all the prescription drugs and antibiotics that Americans rely on, they are now in our water supply.

Even if your water is deemed “safe” to drink, I wouldn’t be too sure.
Definitely drink bottled, purified, distilled water rather than tap water when you can. Icky.

According to a study in France, obesity may be a cause of lower intelligence. No wonder George W. is president!!!! Fat Americans must have been voting in large quantities.
Sorry, back to business. This study was published in a neurology journal. It tested 2,200 men and women between the ages of 32 and 62. A five year time lapse was given between 2 similar vocabulary tests to each subject.
“The research used the official British measure of obesity, which considers individuals with a BMI between 10 and 25 to be of normal weight, while anyone over that mark is considered obese. Researchers attributed the results to the fact that hormones secreted by fats could have a potentially damaging effect on brain cells, ultimately lowering cognitive function.”
Check it out.

So cell phones have been declared illegal when driving according to many states. New Jersey is the newest one that I know about. This is a good thing. I can’t tell you how many times I have been behind someone who is driving super slow in the left lane, or weaving slightly back and forth in a lane or between lanes…and then I get past them to see that they are driving, texting, and/or talking on their phone.
I’m sure with this happening, Bluetooth headsets are going to be on the rise. Not to scare anyone, but you know the radiation that comes from a microwave which can cause brain tumors, etc? Cell phones have that same radiation, maybe slightly less, but you make up for it by putting the phone right up to your ear. You might say, no big deal, I just bought a bluetooth headset, or wire-jack headset, so I’m fine. I don’t put the phone up to my ear anymore. But, as studies have been showing, you actually amplify and increase the radiation waves sent to your brain via these headsets, especially the bluetooth. I recently found a website/company that makes headsets and radiation wave deflectors. I bought a few of them, to stick on my laptop, cellphone, and got a hands free wire-jack….all which reduce radiation emitted from the phone.
This is the website

Notice…it is a Blue TUBE, NOT a Blue TOOTH! If an ad comes up when you click on the link, just refresh the page. It’s worth it. Apparently, besides brain tumors, cell phones are now thought to cause a decreased sperm count. Lovely.

Check out the list of news from www.cnn.com today. I am just appalled. What is our world coming to? Times Square bombing, Jerusalem gunman, UNC president shot, DUI for a driving coach, a drunk 4 year old??
If this is what it’s like now, I just feel terrible for my grandchildren.
My heart goes out to Eve Marie Carson, her family, and friends. So tragic.

The “herbal supplement” airborne has falsely claimed the product helped help fight off colds and flu. For their lies, they will be paying $23.3 million in a lawsuit settlement.

“There’s no credible evidence that what’s in Airborne can prevent colds or protect you from a germy environment,” said CSPI Senior nutritionist, David Schardt. “Airborne is basically on overpriced, run-of-the-mill vitamin pill that’s been cleverly, but deceptively, marketed.”
Airborne was invented by Victoria Knight-McDowell, a second-grade teacher who according to the product’s site, “studied the benefits herbal therapies used in Eastern Medicine.” The company also claimed it “boosts the immune system with seven herbal extracts and a proprietary blend of vitamins, electrolytes, amino acids and antioxidants.”
An ABC News report in 2006 revealed that the company’s clinical trials were not conducted by doctors or even scientists. Airborne then changed their advertising campaign when a plaintiff filed suit against them.
Obviously, Airborne is not meant to cure the common cold, as its package states. It is a mere dose of increased vitamin C and a few other vitamins and minerals to boost one’s immune system. Anyone who thinks it will actually cure the common cold needs to think again! Placebo effects might also participate in the “feeling” that airborne has cured one’s cold. Think about it. Sometimes when we think something will work, it actually has a positive effect on our body. But still, tsk tsk to Airborne for false advertising!
If you want to do something to boost your immune system (like you may have wanted Airborne to do), I suggest upping your dosages of vitamin C. Drink lots of water. Orange juice does not help!!!! Drink hot herbal teas, organic soups, and get more rest. Try out a similar product called Emergen C Cold, which is all natural and sold in most health food stores. It is a powdered substance which dissolves in water…just like Airborne, but it doesn’t make promises it can’t keep.
